Summary:
The Quality Control Engineering Manager (QCEM) plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance department.
He/she will ensure quality of manufactured goods.
The QCEM is responsible for supervising staff and maintaining quality control processes, analyzing the results and giving feedback and guidance to the production team under the direct supervision.
Must insure and assist in determining if materials, product, and/or processes are in accordance with specifications.
Ensure the staff follows the set processes and adheres to best production practices and product quality standards.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Oversees the collection and production samples to evaluate quality.
Design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production.
Conduct final and in-process inspection successfully in a timely manner.
Confirm specifications by conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting/returning for rework unacceptable material.
Inspect all product returns, analyze the defect, and document the findings.
Interpret test results, compare them to support testing procedures Participates in product testing Confirm rework.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Customer PPAP submissions Internal / External PPM goals Completion of customer corrective actions.
Performs other duties as assigned Minimum requirements Develops sections of quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance.
Proficient in blue print reading for purpose of establishing customer's critical needs and how they should be measured.
Proficient using measuring devices including calipers, tape measure, and height gage.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence in working with ambiguity and handling complexity.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with CMM, ring comparator and plug gages is a plus.
Ability to resolve quality-related issues in a timely matter.
Able to work in a fast paced work environment with little supervision (self-starter).
Experience with root cause analysis and PPAP process is a plus.
Ability to train production staff on quality standards.
Ability to implement and analyze SPC and capability studies Education and
Experience:
Preferred Bachelor's degree or higher in a QC/ technical field.
3 - 4 years of experience in an inspection management role Experience with calibrations is necessary.
Experience with ISO 9001:
2015 is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to see details at close range.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
